Kelis to drop new album in September + reveals new track "Jerk Ribs"
Every since Kelis released her 2010 album "Flesh Tone, she's been laying low for a long time. Now the singer-songwriter is back and has announced that she has completed her sixth studio album. It tentatively titled "FOOD" and she's aiming for a September release.
"I'm really excited, my album is done", tweeted Kelis. "It sounds like love and summer balled up into one!"
The album was produced by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek and will be released on his label Federal Prism, according to Pitchfork. The first track taken from the album it called "Jerk Ribs", it was produced The Sitek. It had surfaced earlier this month under the title "Call on Me". This is a very big change from the electronic sound she did on her last album. "Jerk Ribs" has an old school/soulful/R&B vibe.
