2NE1 release MV's for "Happy" + "Come Back Home"

K-Pop girl group 2NE1 spent 2013 releasing three digital singles ("Falling In Love", "Do You Love Me", and "Missing You") that were for the most part just so so. The ladies kicked of 2014 with the release of their second full-length album "CRUSH". Along with that, they've released two new music videos for the title tracks "Happy" and "Come Back Home".

"Happy" was composed, written, and produced by Teddy. The track is quite upbeat and joyful, just like its title its 'Happy'. It reveals a much lighter side of them, but it display some slight sad lyrics "I'm not happy, but I hope you're happy" in the chorus. The video is an cartoon-inspired visual, were you'll see the group taking a cheerful walk on the streets of Los Angeles. Thought out, their's colorful cartoonish effects that pop-up. The song and video aren't bad. Not use to the happy-go-lucky side of 2NE1, but it still has their trademark edge.

"Come Back Home" is produced Teddy, PK, and DEE.P. The track has fusion of elements like reggae, R&B, Hip-Hop, and the usage of an smooth acoustic guitar. They sing about not having their lover with them anymore and asks him to 'come back home', then the production changes to an heavy trap beat. Depending on how you take it, Dara gets seductive with her line "come, baby baby, come, baby baby". Upon seeing the video for the first time, I didn't get the plot in the beginning. From what I got from it shows a struggle between virtual world and reality. The lyrics to ties in with the relationship that's being portrayed. Dara's lover is their for her physically, but mentally he's in his own little world. The visual also features some awesome CGI effects, which made more enjoying to watch.

Which video do I prefer? For me I would choose "Come Back Home". "Happy" is a good song, but with all the cartoon graphics, it does come off boring during certain parts. I probably would listen to the song just by itself more than actually watching the video. I loved "Come Back Home", the production elements used is what I look for in a track especially if its coming from 2NE1.
