Adele's "21" ties Madonna and The Beatles U.K. chart records

This week Adele's new album "21", spends the ninth week at #1 on the UK charts and shifting another 156,000 copies making a total of 1.5 million copies sold.  It has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.

Adele’s "21" is officially the longest running number one album since the Beatles retrospective 1, and also the first album by a female solo artist to spend a long amount of time at the top, equal with Madonna’s 1990 hits package "The Immaculate Collection".
