[Single Review]: 4minute - Volume Up

After a long-year hiatus, one of K-pop's most overlooked girl groups 4minute has made their official comeback with their title track "Volume Up". The group is ready to blow everyone away with the much anticipated release of their new music video and comeback song.

"Volume Up" is nothing we've seen from 4minute, the upbeat dance track starts with a jazzy saxophone intro. The sound of a saxophone makes the beat different and unique. The first verse comes in with Hyuna and Gayoon, as the beat starts to build up Hyuna comes back in with a crazy insane rap. Then Jiyoon sings the hell of the chorus. You can listen to the track below.

This music video is dark and gothic, the presentation of setting fits the mood of song. It was reported that the  impressive cost CUBE approximately $132,500 USD to construct. The money was well spent, because the set was gorgeous in a dark twisted way. They pulled off the whole vampire theme/concept really well.

Whenever I listen to Korean music, I do search for the translations/English lyrics. Since it is titled "Volume Up", you might think its about partying in a club, while the DJ turning up the volume of the music. It's about not wanting to hear what that person who let you go has to say, so they want to turn up the volume.

Their were some members who had more screen time than others like Hyuna, hate to say it but she is the most known from the 4minute. She even got huge parts of the song. When the first teaser came out, I saw some negative comments from haters. All I kept seeing was "why is she acting so slutty, why is she always grabbing on her boobs, and more bullsh*t comments like that. I personally don't think theirs nothing wrong with how she performs in front of the camera.

JiHyun (the leader) had the bridge of the song and her own solo scene. I like SoHyun verse, but she was the most forgettable. Already confirmed sub-unit group 'Double Yoon' aka JiYoon and GaYoon shows off their strong vocal abilities. Which was perfect to the T. The music video overall features an elegant, sexy, different sides of all the members.
