Introducing: HAIM

HAIM is a 'nu-folk–meets–nineties-R&B' pop band from California's San Fernando Valley. Its made of 3 sisters  Danielle Haim (vocals, lead guitar), Alana Haim (vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, percussion) and Este Haim (vocals, bass) and accompanied by drummer Dash Hutton. The three grew up playing in family band with their parents. After finishing high school, they formed the group and started performing in lots of small concerts. The trio later caught the attention several music bloggers.

In February 2012, HAIM released a three-track EP titled "Forever", which created loads of buzz in the music industry. (The EP was available for free download on their website for a short time). Due to that success, HAIM signed a contract with UK label Polydor Records.

The EP begins with "Better Off", has an acapella introduction. Then leads into to light drum beat, followed by a bass guitar. The title track "Forever" is more bolder than the first track, it has an 80's vibe mixed with some funk (mainly due to the sound of the funky guitar playing). "Go Slow" is my personal favorite, the smooth laid back beat is very relaxing. Once again the use of guitar riffs is being showcased. The music is a mash of severals genres. It features heartfelt lyrics, percussion, and lots of guitar usage.

The music video for "Forever" was directed by Austin Peters.

The visual includes 90's home videos of the band. Theirs shots of the girls dancing around and riding down the street on bikes. They're definitely giving off the hipster image, which fits them well.

HIAM's music sounds actually what they've described as folk-meets-R&B-meets pop. Make sure you look out for their debut album "Days Are Gone".
