La Roux returns with "Let Me Down Gently" + New album "Trouble in Paradise" on the way
It's been a billion years (five years to be exact) since Elly Jackson aka La Roux debuted in 2009 with "In For The Kill" and "Bulletproof". Until now I've pretty much forgot all about British singer-songwriter mainly because she's hasn't been active in the music industry lately. Anyway, she has returned with a new single "Let Me Down Gently". Not only that, La Roux also announced the follow-up to their self-titled debut album. The sophomore album is titled "Trouble in Paradise", its set to hit stores and digital retailers on July 7th via Polydor Records.
1. Uptight Downtown
2. Kiss and Not Tell
3. Cruel Sexuality
4. Paradise Is You
5. Sexotheque
6. Tropical Chancer
7. Silent Partner
8. Let Me Down Gently
9. The Feeling
"Let Me Down Gently" is very La Roux-esque, it has an updated vintage synth-pop sound with a much mellower vibe. The track isn't exactly as commercial "Bulletproof", but it has the potential to do great especial in the UK and hopefully on the international charts as well. This was a decent introduction back, after being away from the spotlight. Excited to hear more when the album drops.
You can pre-order La Roux's sophomore album "Trouble in Paradise" on iTunes now.
