STELLAR release sexually charged visual for "Marionette"

Before the release of the track "Study" last year, I thought the four-member K-Pop girl group Stellar had disbanded due being inactive for a long period of time. Apparently they didn't and the group is back this time with their latest single and music video for "Marionette".

This comeback surely raise some eyebrows and brought some positive/negative responses due to the 19+ rated concept with the choreography being overly sexual. Produced by Sweetune, "Marionette" is a semi retro song, that has an rock and guitar sound. The lyrics are about a woman who is being controlled like a puppet and she's still attached to a guy that has left her. Following in the foot steps of AOA, Rainbow Blaxx, and Girls' Day, they abandon the cute, innocent, fun concepts for a sexy one. The video for Stellar's song is VERY VERY sexually charged and didn't leave a good impression. In an attempt to show a mature side, Stellar came off as trying to hard to be sexy. Everything down to the leotard outfits to the butt-rubbing dance moves were just unflattering. Their was some storyline scenes that were portraying sexual imagery. One that stood out the most was the milk drinking scene, it was dripping down the side of her mouth and down the chest (we all know what's that insinuating).

The over revealing wardrobe, countless body part close-ups, and everything else screams 'trying too hard'. It doesn't take all of that crap to capture the listeners attention. Theirs nothing wrong with being sexy, but with them a line was crossed. This was clearly done to gain more attention from the public and to score a hit song on the charts. It will be interesting to see what their agency Top Class Entertainment will have them do next, they received huge publicity for both the song and music video (mainly because of the visual alone). I can't see them going straight back to what they were doing before. In their eyes I guess it was worth it, before this the group was pretty much an after thought.
