Cher Lloyd describes her sound as "Swag Pop"
X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd recently did an interview and photoshoot for Wonderland magazine. The singer/ rapper, gave the magazine an exclusive listen of her upcoming debut album.
Wonderland magazine explains the direction of the songs:
The singer is aimining to deliver an album with a melting pot full of variety including some UK hip hop, Dubstep, pop, you name it. She has already enlisted popular producers such as RedOne and Will.i.am for the project, as well as songwriter Savan Kotecha (Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, etc).
She calls her sound 'swag pop', but that doesn’t even come close to describing the furious energy of what she’s been working on. Yes, she’s still rapping, faster and more aggressively, and she’s fed in a lot of urban influences: some tracks have a southern stride, some take cues from UK hip hop, one even has a huge squelchy Dubstep bassline. But it’s all got kind of ingenious, princessy pop edge – think of soaring chorus, petulant spoken asides and single refrains that hark back to the rhythm and melodies of nursery rhymes.
I looking forward to Cher's music, I just hope its what they are saying that it is.
