One Direction debut single "What Makes You Beautiful" hits #1

X Factor UK runner ups (the ones I never paid attention to) One Direction debut single "What Makes You Beautiful" went to #1 on the official UK charts not to long ago. "What Makes You Beautiful" was penned by Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub (The Backstreet Boys, Gavin DeGraw) and produced by Savan Kotecha (Britney Spears, Usher). The song is not something I would keep on repeat on my iPod.

The popularity of girl/boy bands are huge UK and Ireland at the moment. JLS's horrible single "She Makes Me Wanna" featuring Dev became #1 making this their fifth #1 single and then we The Wanted who got their second #1 with "Glad You Came". So I did think it will be that hard for them to score a #1 or a Top 10 hit. Check out the music video below and their performance of the song on 'Red or Black'.
