Dal★Shabet to return in June with first studio album + Viki leaves group for solo career
Happy Face Entertainment has revealed some exiting news about girl group Dal★Shabet's first full length album release. It's been more than four months since the groups last promotions for their hit song "Hit U".
After three mini-albums, the six member group will be making its return early June with their first full length album (title hasn't been revealed). The upcoming album is reported to have total of 13 tracks and an intro. Out of all the songs, their will be four previously released songs and eight brand new tracks. Its title track was produced by E-Tribe and is set to show a brighter side of the group and will be a nice fit for the summer season.
The label representative described: "It"s a song that has a melody that's bright and fun to fit in with summer. It's definitely noticeable that it has a different appeal than the sexy concept of "Hit U". Their first full album is set to be released on June 7th.
In other Dal★Shabet news it has been confirmed that group member Viki has officially left to pursue a solo career. Happy Face Entertainment announced: "Leader Viki, who began as a member of Dal Shabet on January 4th, 2011, will be withdrawing from the group for a solo career". The rep added: "Viki had solo activities in mind ever since she debuted with Dal Shabet. Viki and her agency have been talking this over for a long time, and we came to this decision before the release of Dal Shabet's new album to help her, before it’s too late, to take on her new dream and fulfill it".
Viki wrote a hand written letter on the groups official fancafe about her departure. [Read Here]
From reading those statements, it seems to me like her heart wasn't totally in group. She was thinking about a solo career ever since she debuted in the group back in January 2011. I wish the best for her and hope she makes some good music in the future. Viki’s last appearance with the group will be at the Yeosu Expo concert on May 27th. Dal★Shabet will be bring a new member in for their comeback new month (June 7th).
