Dawn Richard reveals covers for new singles "Valkerie" & "Judith"

Dawn Richard is starting the promotion for her upcoming sophomore album "Blackheart". The singer-songwriter unlocked the covers for her new fan-selected singles "Judith" and "Valkyrie". Both of the artworks was photographed by Solmaz Saberi.

"Judith"

The first new single announced was "Judith", it was produced by Cronos. The track was inspired by the Gustav Klimt painting 'Judith'.

"It's the story of a painting that is priceless and quite iconic being forgotten after being hung in a home too long", said Dawn. "People tend to forget the worth of things after they've had them for a long time.  'Judith' simply reminds her spectators of her worth".

The photo is in black-and-white photo with Dawn wearing a custom gold mask by Adolfo Sanchez.

"Valkyrie"

Just couple of days after she revealing the cover for "Judith", she revealed the cover for "Valkyrie". The track was written by Dawn and produced by Noisecastle III.

"I wanted a record that was packed with confidence, a sort of cocky reminder that you will remember my mark", said Dawn. "In Norse mythology, valkyries also known as choosers of the fallen, decided the fate of soldiers in battle once they died".

"I thought the impression and mark they left on a soldier's life was incredible", she explained. "'In the end you will remember me' is what I felt they said as they chose the soldier’s fate. I want to leave the same imprint with my art and my music. In the artwork, the horns signify the bravery, strength, and power that existed in the valkyries".

The singer is rocking some gold antlers and a gold mask on her head.

Dawn will release the winning song on iTunes on August 19th.
