New Music: Lady Gaga - Applause

Lady Gaga premiered her new single "Applause" a week early to avoid it leaking out. The track will serve as the first official single from her upcoming album "ARTPOP", which is set to hit stores and digital retailers on November 11th via Interscope Records.

"Applause" was co-written by Gaga herself and produced by DJ White Shadow. The song is uptempo electro pop track, with an 80's inspired production. In all honesty, their's absolutely nothing groundbreaking about this. From what I've heard in the audio, to me Gaga didn't show any growth in the vocal department. Not to say she can't sing, because she can, but I expected her to take to the next level. The songwriting was OK, couldn't necessarily remember any lyrics that stood out.

This comeback track was very predictable and didn't live up to the hype.

The single will be available to purchase on iTunes on August 19th.
