Japanese duo AMIAYA release double A-Side single "STAR LINE / DIO"

Recently discovered a new Japanese act AMIAYA. The duo consists of identical twins AMI and AYA. 

When they turned 15, the sisters moved to Tokyo to pursue their dreams. The duo ended up finding their way into modeling and by the age of 17, they became very popular in well-known magazines. With them being featured in various magazines, they themselves gained popularity for their creative hair and makeup ideas. In July 2010, their first publication 'AYA AMI BOOk' was released, it featured their unique take and opinions on fashion (FACT: It sold a record-breaking 40,000 copies). Soon after, the twins became icons in Tokyo's fashion scene with what they call 'fashion freedom'. With fashion freedom the two broke boundaries of typical Harajuku and Shibuya styles. Even though they've dropped their modeling activities to concentrate on their music, they still active in fashion industry as directors of their clothing brand Jouetie.

Two years later, they eventually left modeling and entered the music scene. In January of this year, AMIAYA released their debut mini-album "Tokyo Pop", which was made available digitally in 154 countries worldwide. The music proved to be well liked by the public. On Taiwan's leading music chart, the album managed to take the top spot.

Seven months after unleashing their debut mini-album "Tokyo Pop", the girls has released two new songs "STAR LINE" and "DIO". The twin sisters also premiered two PV's for the tracks, which has different themes. The songs were produced by THE LOWBROWS who have worked with them on their debut. Famous producer in Japan Takeshi Kobayashi, arranged the music. Their new songs has a mature electro sound, it the total opposite from their previous song "Magic Color".

Star Line

"STAR LINE" is a solid upbeat electro track, that has a dreamy vibe. In the PV (Promotional Video) the twins sitting on a rooftop having some type of party, wearing flashy dresses with cool effects are around them. They were also standing waving glowing lights under the beautiful night sky.

"DIO" is also an upbeat track but with some rock sounds mixed in. The setting for this music video has a very different compared to "STAR LINE". In this PV, the girls are laying as mannequins, while being surrounded by dismembered mannequins. When the chorus comes in they get picked by two men. Both the visuals was artistic, but this told a showed a more meaningful story.
