Introducing New Zealand synth-pop duo BROODS

The next big thing from New Zealand after LORDE has debuted onto the scene and that is BROODS. They're currently based in Auckland, the North Island of New Zealand. The super talented brother-sister duo features multi-instrumentalist Caleb Nott (21) and his younger sister Georgia Nott (19) who serves as the singer.

They formed in early 2013 and began collaborating with the Grammy-winning music producer Joel Little. You may know of him, Joel helped produce fellow New Zealander LORDE's entire project, Grammy-nominated debut album "Pure Heroine". Their song "Royals" won two Grammys including Song of the year. Mr. Little has produced some great material for LORDE, so I can see him working his magic on them. The duo made waves throughout the world when they debuted their dreamy downtempo pop single "Bridges" on soundcloud. With just a few days, it gained over impressive 200,000 plays. Streaming from the success and attention the single was getting, BROODS has signed a record deal with Capitol Records for the US and Polydor in the UK. The labels are going to release both their debut EP and a full-length debut album (produced by Little), which scheduled to released in August.

If you thought "Bridges" was good Georgia and Caleb released another track titled "Never Gonna Change" through their official Soundcloud page once again. The track is beautiful, its haunting, but has an empowering feeling. Their's some smooth melodic elements, along with atmospheric synths that doesn't over shadow Georgia's gentle vocals.

Both tracks gives an exciting look into what's to come from the duo. They might be slightly following in the footsteps of LORDE's, but BROODS are more than likely to create their own musical path separate from hers.

They're currently working on their debut album, so expect more perfection with the next couple of months.
