Fifth Harmony are back with empowering new single "BO$$" – Watch Now
Just two years, Fifth Harmony finished in third place on Season 2 of The X Factor USA. With in that time, the five members released their debut EP titled "Better Together", which featured the hit singles "Miss Movin' On" and "Me & My Girls". Both tracks did moderately well on the charts. Now, the group is preparing to release their debut album "Reflection" later this year via Syco / Epic Records. They've kick started the project with the first official single "BO$$".
Produced by Wallpaper, "BO$$" is an upbeat female empowerment, that showcases a more grown-up sound and image. Mixed with urban-pop influences, theirs serveal catchy points in the song. The ladies chant the chorus over the blaring trumpet: "You say that you a baller" / "And I see you tryna holla" / "But that ain't how I was brought up". They also do a whole lot name dropping, which is my favorite lyric: "Boss... Michelle Obama" / "Purse so heavy gettin' Oprah dollas". The music video was directed by Fatima Robinson. The girls – Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Hansen, and Lauren Jauregui are dressed up in various outfits as they do fierce choreography, pose and walk down the runway.
Their previous releases were OK, but this is right up my lane and I hope we get more mature music similar to this on the groups album. The song has only peaked at #43 on The Billboard Hot 100. That's quite disappointing, because its simply a great song.
