Tinashe's debut album "Aquarius" available now
From independently releasing mixtapes from her bedroom, rising singer-songwriter Tinashe has finally dropped her highly-anticipated debut album "Aquarius" via RCA Records.
"Aquarius is my official album introduction to the world and represents a new season of music and art", Tinashe said in a statement. "I cannot wait to finally share with the world what I have been working so hard on for the past few years. This is just the beginning".If you've already heard the hit tracks "2 On" with ScHoolboy Q and ASAP Rocky assisted track "Pretend", it gave you a preview of what you could expect on the album. The project has a total of 18 tracks, including production from some well-established producers like DJ Mustard, Future, Detail, Boi-1da, Mike WiLL Made-It, Jasper, Stargate, and more.
Tinashe is bringing the sounds heard on her previous mixtapes "In Case We Die", "Reverie", and "Black Water" to a more bigger and mainstream audience. All the right emotions are in this album. There wrapped up in different genres like R&B, hip-hop, and alternative, influences, which include Janet Jackson, Sade, and Aailyah. The album came out two days and is already receiving a lot of great reviews. One negative thing, Hits Daily Double has predicted "Aquarius" is to sell 17-20,000 copies the week. Extremely disappointing numbers, but with it not being a mainstream album, people aren't going to pay too much attention. Regardless, I L-O-V-E this album, it has a similar musical direction like her mixtapes and was hoping it wouldn't lose those key elements. She has a very promising career a head of her, as being apart of the new generation of alternative-R&B music.
