American rock band Evanescence disappeared in 2006 after their sophomore studio album "The Open Door" came out. It did well but but wasn't as successful as their debut album 2003's "Fallen". Now they have released their highly anticipated self-titled third album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and selling 127,000 copies in the first week.

The album has said to have taking 5 years to make. Was it worth the long wait, I think so. Check out the review after the jump.

Vocal Delivery: (5/5)
Lyrical Content: (4.5/5)
Production: (4.5/5)

What You Want
This is a pure rock song. I starts with booming drums and then the catchy chorus comes in: "Do what you what you want/if you have a dream for better/Do what you what/you want till you don’t want it anymore/(remember who you really are)". It's the most dance able song on the album. The video was good too, check it out below. (5/5)

Made of Stone
"Made of Stone" has a mix between rock and pop. The chorus isn't that memorable. (2/5)

The Change
This sounds like the stuff they've done in the past. The song sounds very different from other songs. You hear a bit of bitterness in it. (5/5)

My Heart Is Broken
The official second single from the album. It's very convincing, you hear with her emotional delivery in the chorus. (4/5)

The Other Side
The chorus verses and chorus are lacking, I couldn't really remember nothing about the song at the end. The beat was awesome, especially the guitar riffs. (2/5)

Erase This
"Erase This" is another up-tempo rock song. The follows in the footsteps of "What You Want", but if I was too choose between them, I wouldn't pick this one. (2/5)

Lost In Paradise
The piano in this reminiscent "My Immortal". From the first to the last minute, it is a good listen. (4/5)

Sick
It has some very aggressive drumming, which gives off that dark feeling. The chorus gets stuck in your head. (3.5/5)

End of The Dream
The chorus seems forgettable, have to be my least favorite track. (2/5)

Oceans
"Oceans" is one of the best up-tempo songs on the album. I heard a audio live performance and love it. (4/5)

Never Go Back
On "Never Go Back" it seems to be a rush, everything to the guitar, all the way to Amy's vocals. The small instrumental breakdown was cool. (4/5)

Swimming Home
This particular song is different and the most pop sounding on here. I like the soft gentle voice Amy's giving. Also this is much more calm down than other tracks. (3/5)

Deluxe Edition Tracks

New Way To Bleed
The lyrical content in "New Way To Bleed" is great, it's like a message for the haters. (4/5)

Say You Will
"Say You Will" sounds very much like Avril Lavigne, when Amy sings "Say She Will". (2/5)

Disappear
"Disappear" is another straight rock song with a catchy piano. (3/5)

Secret Door
Out of all of the bonus tracks "Secret Door" is the most memorable. The harp and Orchestra sounds very peaceful. (4/5)

Verdict
Evanescence has lived up to the expectations on this album. If you listen closely, Amy's voice has gotten stronger since the last album. Maybe it was a good thing that they waited so long.

I think the fans who has been waiting for this album, will be satisfied with this music.

Overall Rating: (4/5)
