Katy Perry has achieved major success this year on the Billboard Charts. Her second studio album "Teenage Dream" LP has been certified double platinum in the US.

The album was released on August 24th 2010 and has sold 1.83 million copies in the US. It debuted at #1, selling 192,000 copies in the first week. The LP spawned a record-breaking 5 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, which made Katy the first female artist to achieve it. Michael Jackson done the same historic accomplishment with his album "Bad" album in 1988.

This year at the 2011 Grammy Awards "Teenage Dream" was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Katy has also been nominated for three American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, and is scheduled to perform at the show live on November 20th at 8pm ET via ABC.
