Video Premiere: Garbage - Blood For Poppies
Garbage has released the music video for their comeback single "Blood for Poppies". The track serves as the first single from their upcoming fifth studio album "Not Your Kind of People".
The video was directed by fashion photographer Matt Irwin and was filmed at the end of February in Los Angeles. It was inspired by artists like as Magritte, Maya Deren, Luis Brunel and Francesca Woodman The video gives a black and white retro vibe, while showing glamour shots.
"The song is meant to feel sort of like an abstract dream", Shirley said. "The inspiration came from a story I had read in The Los Angeles Times about the opium trade and also from watching the documentary 'Restrepo'. It's not literal in any sense whatsoever but it's a song about disorientation and delusion and the human struggle to stay sane in the face of insanity".
"Not Your Kind of People" will be released on May 15th (US) and May 14th (UK). Check out the video, after the jump.
