Video Premiere: SPICA - Painkiller

SPICA premiered the music video for their second single "Painkiller". Just three weeks ago, the group finished promotions for their debut track "Russian Roulette".

"Painkiller" is the title track of the group's first repackage album. The R&B track was written by Ryan Jhun, whose also done songs for Lee Hyori, DBSK, and SHINee. B2M Entertainment (Spica's agency) said: "We thought a lot about our new song. There were people who wanted to hear a song stressing more on the members' vocals while some asked for a more powerful performance. So we had difficulty finding a song that balances both sides". The repackage version of SPICA's debut mini album "Russian Roulette" features seven tracks, including new title track "Painkiller" and its instrumental.

SPICA are definitively is one of the best and strong vocal groups to debut this year. Their debut mini-album and the new track "Painkiller" proves that. Sometimes when groups do re-packages, they release a title track that's totally different from the original material. The group is sticking to their R&B sound with this one as well. I love "Painkiller", I have it constantly on repeat. The music video is decent, but it could have been better.
