Tinashe releases debut mixtape "In Case We Die"
LA songstress Tinashe released her debut mixtape titled "In Case We Die". It arrived in February 2012, so yes I'm late making a post for it.
Before becoming a solo musical performer, she was a model and a actress. She appeared in TV Shows and movies with the likes of Tom Hanks And Charlie Sheen. She went on to become the lead singer in a girl group The Stunners. After the disbandment of The Stunners in 2011, the singer-songwriter started to create buzz with the covers of "How To Love" (Lil Wayne) and "We Found Love" (Rihanna). Soon after releasing those cover songs, she independently revealed some original music the tracks "Artificial People" (a collaboration with production-duo OFM) and "Chainless". A music video for "Chainless" was released, the song is also included on the mixtape as a bonus.
In Case We Die [Mixtape Trailer]
The mixtape contains 15 tracks, serving as executive producer Tinashe enlisted B. Hendrixx, Legacy, Wes Tarte, J. Mixx, Myles Morgan, long-time collaborator Dominic 'Legacy' Thomas and many more. The project has a mixture of "urban, rhythmic and pop", with indie, alternative, and hip hop influences. Which is exactly how she described her music, very on-point. She reminds me of the female version of The Weeknd, her vocal range, delivery, and lyrical content all complement the dark seductive vibes heard through the music production.
With already being impressed by what I listened to, I read that she was very and I mean VERY involved in making the music. Tinashe literally spent eighteen straight days working on the project. She wrote, produced, and recorded the material in the confines of her studio from her bedroom. Now this is what I call a true artist. I enjoyed this mixtape from beginning to end.
You can download the mixtape for free via her official website.
