After having a successful hit single with The Cataracs and Far East Movement on "Like a G6", Dev dropped her debut album "The Night The Sun Came Up" on September 20th in Europe. The first single "Bass Down Low" wasn't a huge hit but the second single "In the Dark" proved to be.
If I was to describe Dev, I would say she's has the musical styles of Lily Allen and Ke$ha. Check it out after the jump.

Getaway
"Getaway" is a piano-driven ballad, at least up until a certain point. The song starts out nice and soft. Then the beat changes and Dev goes into a usual rap style. I can take it or leave it. (3/5)
I'm not too sure what song is necessarily about, but it's horrible and the Ke$ha-like autotune got on my nerves. (0/5)
Vocally, Dev sounds a lot like Lily Allen. She sings about how far she's gone in her career. (1/5)
The lyrics are a little boring, but you can steal rock to it. With a banging remix, this could be the perfect song for the clubs. (4/5)
This is very very simple, plain and dull. (1/5)
It started out sounding great, but then the beat changes and then the autotune makes its return. (2/5)
"Dancing Shoes" is generic and doesn't fit into the rest of the album. (1/5)
"Perfect Match" is ok, its just an album filler for me. (3/5)
This is what turned me on to Dev in the first place. It’s a track that will have you nodding your head along to the beat, ready to dance, drink and party. (5/5)
This is my second favorite track on here. It has a nice beat, vocally its not great, but her rapping makes up for that. (4/5)
I didn't like this when it came out a couple months ago, since then it has grown on me a lot. It's fun and has a unique beat, similar to Alexandra Stan's "Mr. Saxobeat". This is Dev's highest charting single to date, peaking to #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. (4/5)
"Shadows" is a acoustic track. Once again just another album filler. (2/5)
Deluxe Edition Tracks
Bass Down Low (Tinie Tempah Remix)
There's nothing really different compared to the main version. (4/5)
Flo-Rida gives his rapping skills to the remix. Not fan of him and rap is lame. He didn't bring nothing new to the track. (3/5)
"Killer is upbeat and fast paced, their's nothing going on with this. (2/5)
This album didn't offer a lot, the lyrics for the majority of these songs were lacking and boring. It's the same way with some of the beats. The entire album was produced by The Cataracs. Overall this is a very poor album and it shows that she's not a great singer.
The US edition of the album is due out November 1st.
Overall Rating: (1.5/5)
