Electronic music duo Zora release debut album "Metamorphosis"
Zora is a Hungarian-born electronic music duo from Cleveland. The duo consists of Zora Vechvyanna, known by Zora (vocals, keyboards, production, songwriting), and Darren Hausen, who goes by the name Xhausen (synthesizer, production). They were formed in 2012 and in the same year, together they have completed their debut full-length "Metamorphosis" that scheduled to be released this fall. Before coming to together as a duo, Zora explored with different musical sound. She learned music production, video editing, and other creative outlets. When she met Xhausen, they clicked and mashed automatically.
The two locked themselves in studio for about six months and began experimenting, writing, and recording their first album. The final product has arrived that is "Metamorphosis", which can be heard below.
Influenced by Tori Amos, Björk, and Nine Inch Nails, the duo's music can be described as unique, ethereal, and edgy. The album has dark soothing seductive production, mixed with well-written lyrics and haunting vocals. You'll hear a combination trip-hop and classic orchestral sounds, which is not heard too music industry, at least in my opinion. I came across them searching through Bandcamp, looking for new artists to listen to. These days I'm getting more into dark music, perfect example Natalia Kills. The 15-track album is a fantastic and have been listening to it on the regular lately. Favorite tracks would have to be the title track "Metamorphosis", "Alienation", and "Fallen Angels". Along with having an increasing love for Asian music, alternative and indie music has also been gaining a lot my interest these days.
