New Music: Maroon 5 - Animals

Maroon 5 has premiered a new track titled "Animals". The track serves as their second official single and is the follow-up to "Maps". Both tracks are on going to be on their upcoming fifth album "V", which is set to hit stores and digital retailers on September 2nd via Interscope Records.


Co-written and produced by Adam Levine, Benny Blanco and Shellback, "Animals" is a wild song, where Adam metaphorically sings about wanting to eat his love interest alive. He acts as the 'Animal', her scent gets hard to resist for him not to go after the girl. "Baby I'm preying on you tonight" / "Hunt you down, eat you alive just like animals" / "Baby you think you that can hide", sings Adam Levine. For these type of lyrics you would think the production and vocal delivery would be more uptempo more aggressive, I'm glad it wasn't. The song probably would've rubbed some people the wrong way. Personally for me its tolerable, don't see it getting a lot of radio airplay partially due to the lyrically content.
