Brandy & Monica to release new duet in February
Over the past week, photos of Brandy and Monica surfaced of them in the studio working with Rico Love on a special collaboration. This will officially be their first collaboration since the famous "The Boy Is Mine" duet fourteen years ago. "The Boy Is Mine" record held the #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks in 1998. It earned the pair a Grammy and was one of the best selling songs of that year.
On both sides,I think their is some pressure to top that record but Rico Love seems very confident in the track success: "I wanted to make sure I made it a classic R&B record, but I definitely wanted to make sure that it had enough appeal to cross over and become a Top 40 record". According to Rap-Up, the highly anticipated track "It All Belongs To Me" will be be released on February 6th via RCA Records. The record will be featured on both of the singers upcoming albums. Monica's upcoming album "New Life" is set to be released March 6th, and Brandy's untitled album will make its way into store later this year.
Glad to hear they have come back together to make music. I didn't think that was going to happen at all.
