Lady Gaga unveils portrait like single cover for "Applause"

Lady Gaga has revealed the official single cover for her anticipated track "Applause". It's serves as the first single from upcoming album "ARTPOP".

The photo was featured in the latest issue of WWD (Women's Wear Daily), it showcases Gaga in a frame with her face covered in several colors like red, blue, and yellow. The artwork was done by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. They also directed the music video for "Applause".

"It's the end of the night after the show", the pop star tells Women’s Wear Daily. "When I look at it I see that there is a longing for the applause. I see that there is a void that is leaking onstage, that the performer is leaking, that the art is sort of becoming something else in front of your eyes. Something more human, something more honest".

"Applause" will premiere and go sale on iTunes on August 19th. On the same day, album will also be available to pre-order. "ARTPOP" is set to hit stores on November 11th.
